First things first: HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope your holidays were festive and fulfilling. If not, then I hope 2008 brings everything that 2007 lacked (and more). With the new year comes a whole bunch of "Best of 2007" polls and contests. The Preditors & Editors polling just ended, and I think I might've landed in the Top 10 in a couple categories. The results aren't official, though, until they're verified. Last year, the polls showed Switch around number 8 at its close, but it ended up in first place! So, I'm hopeful that Coming Together: For the Cure will edge into the Top 10 this year. Anything beyond that will just be icing on my cake. At eCataRomance Sensual, the polls are still up & running. Pop on over there and cast your votes. Will & I have several books nominated in the various categories, and we'd greatly appreciate your support. There are two new submission calls in the Coming Together series. I'm so thrilled that Phaze is supportive of this venture! Check out Coming Together: At Last (an interracial collection with a hope/freedom theme that will benefit Amnesty International) and Coming Together: Against the Odds (a collection with a mystery theme that will benefit Autism Speaks). Until next time ... ~ Alessia ~ * ~ New Releases & Coming Soon [TOP]

On the promo blog, I have several posts begging for votes in the above-mentioned polls *grin* and a bit about the ACLU's Wear Orange event. There's also a hilarious YouTube video clip of erotic romance being read aloud. Lastly, I posted a couple rants about some drama that transpired in the blog-o-sphere. I'll not rehash that here. (You're welcome.) At MySpace, more of the same. I didn't have the energy to post more than my Thursday Thirteens. Being sidelined with the flu over the weekend preceding Christmas really sapped my energy. I still feel like I'm not fully recovered. Poetry [TOP] On the poetry blog this month is a word-play poem entitled December. See if you can name all the historical events it references. Also, the announcement that Phaze in Verse made the finals for the EPPIE Awards in the poetry category! This collection is also available as a special edition chapbook. It contains four of my poems and a wide variety of work from my Phaze compatriots. Really good stuff, if I do say so myself!
THERE'S a SEQUEL AVAILABLE, too: Bound for Success
BOTH are COMING to PRINT in APRIL 2008! |
