Well, it's all over but the snarking, and even that's dying down. The Romantic Times BOOKlovers Convention was a rousing success. Pictures and video slideshows have popped up on various blogs for the rubber neckers. Depending on who you ask, I either looked great for a 45-year-old mother of three, or I looked ridiculous for wearing costumes meant for chicks half my age. *shrug* Opinions are like... Well, you get the gist. No matter how you slice it, I had a helluva good time and did some great networking for myself and my publisher. I'm already looking forward to next year in Orlando. Just before I left for Pittsburgh, I got some great news from Clean Sheets. They're gonna publish my short story "Past Perfect" concurrently with the release of Coming Together: With Pride (in which it appears). We're gonna do some cross promotion back scratching type stuff. I especially liked the fact that their discerning (read: exceptionally picky in a good way!) editors used words like "breathtaking," "brilliant," and "altogether yummy" to describe my work. *beams* On the writing front, I'm still slowly chipping away on Succorae. Will & I started writing the next book in the ArtiFactual series a few days ago, too. This one will involve time travel in addition to that world's established spirits & haunted sex toy paranormal-ness. Coming Together: With Pride is finished & off to Phaze for final formatting. I posted the wrap cover on the Coming Together blog. ARCs have been sent for review. The release date has been bumped to the beginning of June because the wonderful ladies at All Romance eBooks want to do a fancy schmancy MySpace flash ad for the entire month to help promote it. Hell, yeah! I hope you're all enjoying a lovely spring. Until next time ... peace & passion, ~ Alessia ~ * ~ New Releases & Coming Soon [TOP]
BLURB:
~ * ~
COMING in early JUNE 2008 from PHAZE
CONTENTS:
Spring Training Last season, Andrea Spring had the ride--or, rather, rides--of her life with a pair of pitchers in Double Header. As the new season rolls around, Andi's focus has shifted from players to coach. Does Mark Hamilton have what it takes to earn Andi's trust and complete Spring Training?
~ * ~ Interviews & Appearances [TOP] As already mentioned, I attended the Romantic Times BOOKlovers Convention in Pittsburgh April 16-20. I'll next be appearing at the Philadelphia Book Festival (May 17-18) with a posse of East coast authors including Tilly Greene, Stella Price, Leigh Ellwood, Philippa Grey-Gerou, Bridget Midway, Cat Johnson, Robin Slick, etc. I'm really looking forward to the two-day event, and I'm hoping the weather cooperates.
On the promo blog: I posted Bare Back Magazine's review of Bound for Success, a mini rant about yellow journalism involving Amazon's oh-so-scandalous catalog of erotic ebooks, linkage to my first blog post at eXcessica, an announcement of Spring Training's ebook release (and pre-release) plus its first review, some stuff about RT (here, here, and here), the news of Amazon's megalomaniacal insistence that small press use its in-house printer (BookSurge), links to the LiveJournal publisher polls I created, and a link to Selah March's wonderful spoof on the latest slamming of EPIC. The rest was cross-posted... At MySpace: Commentary re the EPIC rant that spawned Selah's spoof, a link to EPIC's ebook petition, news of eXcessica's launch, announcement of Artistically Bound's print release, my RT agenda, and a post about bisexuality. Damn! I blogged quite a bit. Wish I'd been as prolific with the fiction writing and... Poetry [TOP]
On the poetry blog, just a shout for a couple of poets who I greatly admire: Petula Caesar and Lefty McGee. I haven't had time to wax poetic myself. Life's too crazy right now.
