Ah, summer! When a harried mother's thoughts turn to homicide. The weeks between school's dismissal in early June until classes resume in late August are typically chaotic and stressful for me. I am NOT cut out to be an entertainer of children. I know this, and I have long since jettisoned the guilt associated with my abject failure as a bake-sale-and-book-fair mom. I can (and do) provide supervision, direction, and a rich, safe environment in which to play, but that's the extent of my involvement. Anything more BURNS us, precioussssssssss. And this year, the chaos and entropy are increased... exponentially. It's disturbing how quickly order and organization breaks down with the addition of two more children to the household, even on a temporary basis. Not to mention the hefty bump in the grocery & utility bills. Let's not forget the added dishes & laundry, either. And the messes. Oh. Joy. My creative juices are damned near dammed. I can barely think past the logistics of domesticity, much less weave plots and arc characters. I'm hoping that fall will bring with it the return of my imagination -- or, at least, its liberation from the current focus on uses for duct tape that could easily put me on the wrong side of the law. Other than bitching about my lot in life (This, too, shall pass!), I don't have much to share. The busy March-May convention season is over. I've yet to discover any compelling reason to suck up to RWA. Dragon*Con's not for another two months yet. I don't have much book news. So, there's really not a whole helluva lot to be newsletterish about. I hope y'all are enjoying your summers. Me? I'm counting the days (54) 'til school starts. Until next time... peace & passion, ~ Alessia ~ * ~ New Releases & Coming Soon [TOP]

(Labor Day weekend in Atlanta). Will & I plan to attend, but only as
spectators. And by that time, I
I won't bore you by summarizing what I've posted on my various blogs. (Toys for Tarts has been the most active, by far.) Rather, I'll again settle for posting the links to each. Please visit them and have a look around. Subscribe. Follow. Whatever.
