Spring has finally sprung in Appalachia. Well, not exactly, but it's taunting with an occasional fabulously sunny, warm day and hints of color on the treetops. The forsythia is poised to erupt in bright yellow glory. The ladybugs are certainly excited, if their industrious presence on the south-facing windows is any indication, and the robins are looking quite rotund. I, for one, am READY for my mountains to be reborn in lush, green passion. Winter was a hairy bitch with bad breath.

On the writing/publishing front, things are progressing nicely. My Purple Prosaic sales are steadily increasing, and Coming Together continues to grow in energizing ways. I'm trying to be smart about distribution, focusing time and effort on vendors who have the most traffic. There are exciting things happening at All Romance eBooks and Smashwords these days. Amazon's policies with regard to Kindle are favoring small/indie press as well. It's a good time to be self-publishing, and it's only going to get better.

While I was disappointed that Sapphistocated was not selected as a finalist for the Lambda Literary Awards, I was consoled by Coming Together: Against the Odds receiving an EPPIE (or, rather, EPIC EBOOK AWARD as it's now being called).

Please pardon the brevity of this edition of my newsletter. My eldest spawn, Enigma, is having surgery in the morning, and my thoughts are quite scattered this evening. I want to get this published, though, and off my desk. You understand, I'm sure.

I'll be at RT (Romantic Times) in Columbus at the end of April and BaltiCon in Baltimore at the end of May. I'm hoping to hit the Pride events in DC and Baltimore as well, but there's nothing definite there, yet.
